The Numbers Lady
Hi there, I’m Kathleen!
I’m a professional grammy, and proud mom to Nichole (our founder) and her brother, Andre (a Marine). I’m also the resident Numbers Lady around here.
I wear many different hats at Nurture Massage Therapy, anything from bookkeeping to caretaking our office baby, and Nichole’s youngest. You may hear from me when I send out invoices or if you need help getting on our schedule.
I love getting to know our clients, and knowing that what we do is helping serve all you mama’s in the best way possible. I’m so proud to be able to facilitate and help in that mission.
As a mom for the past 37 years (yikes!) I know how important taking care of yourself is, and I can’t wait to help you get some much needed self care in!
Self Care Experience & Advice
-
I was 42 when I received my first massage, and the only reason I did it was because the place that cut my husbands hair had hired a massage therapist and she was giving away free 10 minute sessions.
I was working out a lot then and worked at a computer all day, and my shoulders and neck suffered. The massage just made my body feel so much better, and I was in a better headspace. I felt so great that I tried to get one as often as my budget would allow.
It’s never too late to start getting massage, and once you become a mom, massage can be such a helpful way to care for your self, so that you can care for your family.

Personally I prefer deeper pressure, so I like someone who can provide that. I also like when the massage therapist has a clear understanding of the body and how it works and can explain it to me. I want to be educated about my body and what I can do to in between massage sessions to help my body feel better.
My advice for someone who’s getting a massage from a massage therapist for the first time is to ask about their style and technique. What does the massage therapist specialize in and what kind of things do they like to treat. This can really help you figure out if they will be the right fit for you.

I try to get a massage at least twice a month, and I would get them more if I could!
I find them necessary because I’m working through a back injury and spend quite a bit of time on the computer.
I would recommend to anyone to get a massage at least once a month. But as Nichole always says, be sure to talk with your massage therapist first because everyones needs are different.

What I love about being a mom is watching my children grow and experiencing all their special moments. Whether it was when they were young and just learning how to ride a bike, or even as adults finding their way through life. My husband and I are so proud of how our children are living their lives.
My least favorite thing about motherhood is learning to let go. It can be difficult to sit back and allow your kids to make their own decisions, even when those decisions might hurt them. But in the end all of these experiences give them an opportunity to grow and can give way to strength.
